Our curriculum allows students to choose courses across all subject areas, allowing them to customize their high school experience to align with their future educational and career goals. This personalized approach ensures that students meet the prerequisites for their desired fields of study.

We offer a wide range of challenging courses, all focused on the RAS General Learning Outcomes. These courses are available at varying levels of difficulty and commitment, catering to our students’ diverse needs and aspirations. Our goal is to cultivate critical thinking, problem-solving, and analytical skills essential for success in higher education and beyond.

RAS offers a robust selection of Advanced Placement (AP) courses designed by the U.S. College Board. These college-level courses allow students to earn university credits while still in high school, giving them a competitive edge in college admissions. AP courses also provide rigorous academic challenges that prepare students for the demands of university-level studies.

In addition to AP courses, RAS offers the prestigious International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme (IBDP). The IBDP is a rigorous pre-university course of study that meets the needs of highly motivated students. It encourages students to be knowledgeable, inquiring, caring, and compassionate, emphasizing intercultural understanding and respect. The IBDP curriculum covers six subject groups and includes unique elements such as the Theory of Knowledge (TOK), the Extended Essay (EE), and Creativity, Activity, and Service (CAS), which foster research, reflection, and community engagement skills.

Starting in Grade 10, students collaborate with a High School Guidance Counselor to select courses that align with potential university requirements. This guidance ensures that students are well-prepared for the application process and meet the specific admission criteria of their chosen institutions.

Graduating from RAS is a passport to universities worldwide. Our comprehensive curriculum, personalized support, and rigorous academic standards ensure students have the knowledge, skills, and credentials to enter prestigious universities globally.

The High School curriculum at Raffles American School is thoughtfully designed to provide a rigorous and flexible educational experience. By offering diverse courses, personalized guidance, and opportunities for advanced study through the AP and IBDP programs, we prepare our students to excel in their academic endeavors and achieve their long-term goals.

“I’m from Ecuador, and I love being a part of the RAS community because it has taught me a lot about different countries, people, and cultures. In the five years that I have studied here, I have broadened my English vocabulary with words that I didn’t know before and began learning Mandarin, which is honestly one of the best experiences I’ve ever had! I’m really thankful to everyone who has supported me throughout my journey here at Raffles American School!”
